Proud of my kids
I'm so proud of my kids. Most kids get excited when they turn 16 because they can drive a car, when they turn 18 because they can vote, and when they turn 21 because they can drink. But all of my kids have been very excited at their 17th birthday. Why? Because they can give blood. Today Kali, who turned 17 on June 28, drove to Stoughton to donate blood at a blood drive -- her first time. Although she got sick (three times), she said she was glad she did it. She said she saved three lives by giving blood today. Rose started the "17th birthday donating blood tradition" and Jasmine continued it when she turned 17. Now Kali stepped up to the plate. Yes, I'm a proud mom.
