It's Fair Week

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Fair Week ends July 29. What performances did you see?
Rodney Atkins on Thursday; George Jones on Friday (I was country when country wasn't cool -- a lot of spiritual songs, including one of Anna Dennison's fav's, Amazing Grace);
Foreigner on Saturday; Josh Gracin on Sunday.

Grandma Linda Babler and the entire Pomplun family, except Rose who had to babysit, went to the fair together on Saturday, July 28 and had a good time. Grandma looked at the girls' exhibits, watched the kids (including Louie, but not Tammy) go on rides, looked at the animals, tried to win goldfish and shared a funnel cake. It was a hot, hot day and the fair was not at all busy. George Jones was singing that night, but we didn't stay, we were all tired out! See the pic of Linda's family at the fair. Email me a pic of your family at the fair.

We have three 4-H Exhibitors this year: Becka Cronin and Kali and April Pomplun. Be sure to look for their exhibits at the fairgrounds.

Becka is in Cloverbuds. Cloverbuds are first or second year 4-H members, 7-9 years old. Becka made a leathercraft key chain, a poster of how milk is made and a rocket. As a Cloverbud, she receives Rainbow participation ribbons.
Kali and April both took their photographs. One of April's photos is of Maddie Cronin, one of Kali's is of Louka Pomplun swimming. Kali's other picture is a landscape of an airplane. April's other photos are beautiful flowers -- really stunning. Both girls got blue ribbons on all their pictures.
Kali also took cooking, although it's nearly impossible to find a person's cooking exhibit. She got a white on her homemade cinnabons, but only because they were supposed to be unfrosted (she frosted them) and she didn't have the recipe in a plastic baggie. HMMMPH! Tasted good to us!
April also took drawing and painting - she took a black and white drawing of a horse and a yellow and red picture of a flower as well as her sketchbook. She got a blue on the flower and sketchbook and a red on the horse drawing.
April also exhibited at the 4-H horse fair, held on July 14, separate from the rest of the 4-H fair. Sugar (her horse) was acting up, so April only showed in one event -- western pleasure -- and got a red. All the horses were acting up that day -- it was pretty windy and there was a new tent on the fairgrounds which was spooking some of them.
This is Kali's last year in 4-H. Tammy and Lisa were in 4-H as kids. Tammy took sewing (hmmm...), photography, home environment. Lisa took horses, of course. Were you in 4-H? What projects did you take?

Also Becka got a red ribbon at the fair on a caricature she did of Dawn. It was awesome.
Love you all, Judy
